Dr. Carl Oguss of the East Hawaii Dog Psychology Center will host Service Saturdays, beginning at 2 p.m. today, at Queen Liliuokalani Park and Gardens on Banyan Drive in Hilo.

Oguss will help prepare your dog to become a certified service animal, able to assist you anywhere you go, and allowed to fly free at your side.

The class also trains therapy dogs to do visitations and bring joy to people in hospices, adult day care centers, veterans centers, hospitals, schools, etc.

Oguss also hosts Social Sundays, with a focus on improving your dog’s social skills, giving them a fun experience with other dogs and solving any behavioral problems your dog might have.

Saturday classes will be at a time to be determined by those who register. The Sunday class for everyone will continue to meet each week from 2-4 p.m.

There is no cost for either class, but paid individual instruction is available.
